Who should attend


This is a national scheme in the form of a 1 day course which s designed for those involved in operational activities within or around the water industry and who require access to sites, both permanent and temporary. The course is relevant for all operatives, supervisors and managers.


Aims


To provide candidates with a greater understanding of on-site safety awareness. It is a passport scheme and does not indicate any level of technical competence or skilled expertise.


Learning Objectives


Utility SHEA (Water) comprises of thirteen modules. The eight core modules are common to all utility industries and form the basis of health, safety and environmental law and practices.


There are modules that are specific to the water industry which cover a range of operations within the clean water network, the sewerage network and process operations.


All trainees will complete the core modules, however dependent on job role, they may complete any combination of the Clean Water Network, Sewerage Network and Process modules.


It is designed to provide on-site evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge and awareness.


Course Method


Classroom instruction including the use of power point, handouts, videos.

Confirmation of learning is assessed by multiple choice questionnaires.


Due to the content and the time involved, we are unable to combine SHEA / NWH irrespective of previous experience and accreditations ( Statement added 30/08/18 )


Benefits


Successful participants will receive the EUSR SHEA (Water) with the CSCS logo. The card is valid for 3 years. The Utility SHEA (Water) scheme is affiliated with the Construction Skills Certification
