EUSR SHEA (Gas)
Who should attend
This is a national scheme in the form of a 1 day course which is designed for those involved in operational activities within or around the Gas industry who require access to sites, both permanent and temporary. This course is relevant for all operatives, supervisors and managers.
Aims
To provide on-site evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of site safety knowledge and awareness. It is a passport scheme and does not indicate any level of technical competence or skilled expertise.
Learning Objectives
The Utility SHEA (Gas) scheme comprises of eleven modules. The eight core modules are common to all utility industries and form the basis of health, safety and environmental law and practices.
There are three modules that are specific to the gas industry which cover working on the network and above ground installations (AGI).
All trainees will complete all modules. It is designed to provide on-site evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge and awareness of site safety requirements
Course Method
Classroom including the use of power point, handouts, videos. Confirmation of learning is assessed by multiple choice questionnaires.
Benefits
Successful participants receive the EUSR SHEA (Gas) passport card which is valid for 5 years and has a CSCS Accreditation.
The Utility SHEA (Gas) scheme is affiliated with the Construction Skills Certification (CSCS) scheme to allow Gas industry workers access to construction sites for purposes of utilities work without the need to acquire a separate CSCS card.
