½ Day training
The course has been designed to be highly interactive with theory and practical application enabling the candidate to have sufficient knowledge / understanding to be able to assist the excavator operator in their duties of carrying out excavation activities and avoidance of the associated hazards.
Aims of the training
The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and understanding to demonstrate safe signal and direction techniques when guiding or banking excavators, including:
· Identifying the risks involved in excavation work.
· Hand signals associated with mechanical excavations
· Identifying safe methods of excavator control by
assisting the excavator operator in order to avoid
underground and overhead structures.
Who should attend?
Operatives who are directly involved with carrying out excavation work or those who require an appreciation of the dangers and techniques employed whilst working in excavations.
We recommend that candidates that have previously attended or about to attend HS(G) 47 or EUSR CAT 1 (Locate utility services ) package to attend this training event.
